Alexandrina Sixth Birthday Celebration Results
This year's Birthday Celebration was delayed a week to coincide with the 90th Birthday of one of our most loved players Marj E. We love all our players but the more senior they are the more we love them.
At the end of our Birthday Lunch Marj became the centre of our attention when we presented her with a gift that had been organized by Jane and Bill (who were not present themselves - Jane due to some flu variety and poor Bill had had an hour long dental appointment immediately before lunch!).
We then asked Marj to sit down and stop being the centre of attention while we awarded the Club Championship trophy to the new Champion Partnership.
And the Alexandrina Contract Bridge Club Champion Partnership for 2017-18 is Helen and the Birthday Girl herself!
As well as the Cup Marj and Helen received a congratulatory card from out international members, Sue and John. And a good time was had by all.
The extra celebrations meant that we played an even more reduced session than we normally do (15 rounds instead of 18) , so your Play Director has decided that that these results will not be included in next year's Championship. But there are still chocolates to be won, so here are the Results:

Results for Club Championship:
The ladder shows all partnerships that played 10 or more sessions, however, competition was restricted to partnerships who played at least 60% of available sessions (32). There were 53 sessions in 2015-16 (only one person attended every session: Marie who played 52 times and came once just to give us our afternoon tea - President Beryl says she deserves a medal and I think we are working on that).
Club Champions and holders of the Margret Warren Cup for 2017-18 are Helen & Marj.
Runners Up were Marie & Chris.
Biggest Increased Average were Debbie & Leigh.
Special Prize for Promising First Year to Garry and Janelle.
Highest Session Winning Percentage was by Pieter & Norman.
Best Attendance was by Ruth & Malcolm.
Marj's wine prize turned out to be a bottle of Bailey's in honour of our Founding Patron.
